The strawberry is a native plant to the entire Northern Hemisphere. It is a perennial plant of the family Rosaceae. The strawberry, although it belongs to the same family, is unrelated to the commercial varieties which have lost the smell, the taste and the most healing properties. In modern herbal medicine, the strawberry is mainly used for stomach problems and is considered to have astringent properties. So, it is suitable for treating diarrhea, dysentery and the gastrointestinal bleeding. Both leaves and root are considered to be diuretics and are suggested by herbalists for cleaning the urinary and fighting inflammation, cystitis. It is considered that acts in arthritis and rheumatism.
