The Rock rose is an aromatic, native shrub. Its leaves are small and furry, its flowers are pink or white and we found them individual or in groups. It is cultivated in the Mediterranean and especially in Crete in places with increased moisture. Bees collect pollen, nectar and resin from rock rose to make the propolis. It has been used since antiquity against cholera. The Roman physician Celsus was using it as a poultice to malignant sarcomas. It relieves from stomach and intestine problems and acts against obesity. It is soothing, astringent, antispasmodic, reduces the symptoms of bronchitis and is used to prevent colds and other diseases.
