The mallow is a native plant to Western Europe, North America and Asia. Today we find it in any place, as it was transferred and "adapted" to the natural environment in many areas (from America to the Eastern Australia) and acquired individual characteristics. So, malva is an annual plant in North Africa, biennial in Europe and perennial throughout the world. Historically, we know that mallow was widespread in Ancient Greece and Rome for soup preparation or as salad. According to the information we have, the mallow was the food of the poor people, as there was in abundance in nature and its consumption reduced the hunger.
