Description
The yohimbe is an evergreen tree that is endemic in West Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon and Congo. The plant has psychotropic activity and is widespread as an aphrodisiac herbal. The bark of the tree contains compounds that are called alkaloids. The main alkaloid plant is yohimbine. Yohimbine is used as a medicine in the United States for the treatment of erectile impairment. In addition, yohimbine has found that facilitateS lipolysis by increasing the release of norepinephrine in the cells. As a dietary supplement, the dried bark of the tree is converted to tea.
