    Description

    Sinapis belongs to the genus of angiospermae magnoliopsida annual plants and the family of Cruciferae. The mustard comes from this plant. The most widespread species of sinapis are the yellow (derived from the eastern Mediterranean ), the brown (comes from the Himalayas ) and the black (from the Middle East). Apart from its use in the preparation of mustard, sinapis is a spice for general uses. It is used to create an aromatic essential oil and is contained in various pharmaceutical products such as ointments and poultices. Its seeds have a spicy taste that varies according to the different species. The yellow seeds have milder taste from the others, the brown have middle taste and the black have more intense taste. It gives a rich flavor to meat, fish, poultry, in cooked vegetables, sauces and dressings.
