Description
Vanilla is a spice of the New World and the Spanish brought it to Europe in the 17th century. The Aztecs discovered this plant that gave elegance in their chocolate. Until 1846, the Mexicans held a monopoly, with the exception of some plants which have been given in botanical gardens. The flowers of vanilla live very little and have a pollination system in Mexico, which can not be realized only by the hummingbird and some insects. The vanilla exists in all homes and is highly valued. It is a basic ingredient of sweets, desserts, drinks, pudding and chocolate.
